dizzy: Support for Diabetes
I attended the Rustington Manor Networking event with the Chief Operating Officer of dizzy, Jools Chaffer on Thursday 1st Aug. Jools is the event facilitator and this event is held on the first Thursday of every month at 7am at the Rustington Manor Hotel which is a lovely setting to meet new and existing clients. I have been working with Jools as his Personal Trainer and Coach and he has achieved amazing results in the short time that we have been working together. So far in 8 weeks of training (PT sessions once a week) he has lost 6% body fat and 10cm from his waist as well as changed his whole outlook on life, health and appearance.

The Social Enterprise currently have four local community stores based within the Arun District (Rustington, Littlehampton, Middleton-on-Sea and East Preston) plus another two through the World Wide Web, via eBay (trading name ‘dizzy2me’) and directly through the dizzy website. These stores are vital to enable dissemination and distribution of quality information, leaflets and literature, educational books; to promote their support groups, awareness days and educational training sessions, plus provide access to discounted / subsidised diabetes Glucose Monitors, diabetes assistance /aid products such as I.C.E (in case of emergency) tags.
Diabetes and Exercise:
Physical activity is key to leading a healthy lifestyle and reducing the chance of chronic illnesses. People of all ages who are inactive can improve their health simply with regular, moderate-intensity exercise. Physical activity does not need to be hard to be beneficial. Do check with your health care professional about how much exercise and which activities are best for you before starting a new exercise programme. If you already exercise regularly, you will probably have found that it makes you feel better. The main thing is to start doing something active on a regular basis. It is also one of the best ways of keeping your blood glucose levels more stable.
