JOOLS CHAFFER: SHOULDERS AND ABS + THE MAIN GOAL!
Once again Jools met Leanne for a Personal Training session and a goal setting session. Anyone who has a personal goal to achieve goes through a lot of soul searching, mental strength and determination to achieve their goal. In Jools’ case his focus is a photoshoot on World Diabetes Day on 14th November. Todays session was not just about upping the weights on his shoulders but also keeping on top of the abdominal workout as well as staying on track mentally and physically. But as far as pumping iron goes Jools really pulled it out of the bag today and had upped the weights on shoulder shrugs to 40kg in each hand! It took an enormous amount of strength just to lift the weights and his shoulders, biceps and forearms are looking awesome!! Seriously, Jools is on his way to success 🙂
All personal trainers give their clients goals to achieve broken down into short, medium and long term goals. In order for Jools to achieve his goals he has been adhering to the SMARTER goal setting principles:-
S – Goals must be Specific and the more specific the better. State your goal in as exact of terms as possible.
M – Targets should be Measurable. So think about what will be the measurement of your achievement of your goal.
A – Goals should have Accountability. Who or what are you accountable to for the goal?
R – Goals must be Realistic. Unrealistic goals will lead to discouragement.
T – Targets should be Time based. Decide your time-table for completion, and stick to it.
E – Goals should be Exciting. Exciting goals will be met far sooner than boring, bland goals.
R – Goals should be Recorded, in a place where you can look at it every day.
Every workout that Jools does with Leanne is recorded, his body fat is measured every month (including the size of his muscles!) and every time he lifts a heavier weight it is recorded!
